5 Advices for Advanced RPA Developers

Here are the 5 important advices for advanced RPA Developers:

1) Be Curious with Citrix: Automating a process in virtualized environment is very challenging as the application attributes won't be available in Citrix to make the automation easy. The bot's performance in Citrix may not be reliable and many of the processes goes for a "No - Go" during technical feasibility. However UiPath tool makes this process easier with Citrix automation. Any pro level RPA Developer can really get their hands dirty by working on image automation which can make the process at least partially automatable.

2) Programming is easy: Programming is a very creative profession.  Most of the SLA based processes are automated successfully with the help of few lines of codes rather than the existing features of the tool. Pro developers need to be pretty good in at least one of the programming languages and need to do the tasks more with codes rather than using actual features. This significantly reduces the AHT of a process. Programming is fun and my favorites are Python and VB.

3) See the 'big picture' before developing:
It is good if a developer shows keen interest in suggesting a better solution design rather than what is actually documented.
A well planned design schedule leads to good design, good documentation and reduces the efforts of Quality Assurance or User Acceptance process. In short "well planned is half done". Pro developers should learn a lot by coordinating with Technical Architects especially in understanding the functionality of the process.

4) Innovation distinguishes between a leader and follower:

It is very much encouraged if a developer creates his\her own innovative out of the box features to solve a problem instead using the existing tool features. Strive to innovate and share the knowledge. Pro developers are able to understand at a single glance what tools in their arsenal would best fit the problem at hand.

5) The AI : The entire world is marching towards Artificial Intelligence. It is a deadly combination of owning this skill along with RPA. There are many online courses available where AI is taught extensively. RPA will inturn depend hugely on AI in near future and spending the time on AI will be the biggest investment in your career.

Overall a RPA pro developer must clearly identify the business challenges and should possess an intuitive understanding of algorithms, technologies and software architecture in order to solve the business problems.
